Cell Block

I had two images that I really wanted to exhibit and found some other stills that I thought led up well to the two images that were the most prominent. The shadows theme really worked out well at night when street lights and lights on buildings turned on. The image of the shadow of a plant had the same feel to it as the shadows of railings and the contrtast in those images looked great. I really felt that some of the overexposed images worked well in here to cut up the linearity of the sequence of stills. The image of the silhouetted statue went really well with the small slits of light on the textured wall and the shadows that were projected by the light in that small alcove area. All those images made me think of different variations of silhouettes.

Leaf Shadow

I love this video. The contrast of the shadow and the light on the cement is great and I also love how I can listen to pretty much any ambient song along with this video and it feels like a short music video. I really wanted to exhibit how the wind affected shadows and I love watching the green leaves and then watching the shadow mimic them.

Iron and Wine

This video was a sort of narrative of the sun. It started out as a narrative of the rising and setting of the sun but it became an exhibit of how any light emitted by the sun is seemingly unreal. The repetition of stills (pulsating parts) in this video makes the light dance. I guess I was playing with the idea of the sun and all of its rays dancing.

Animal Collective

I particularly like how overexposed this clip is. It's almost as if light is reflecting off of the cement. The subtle contrast between the shadows and the light is something I was trying to perfect for a long time when composing this shot.

Iron & Wine

I particularly like the fact that in this video it seems like the sun is trying its hardest to peek out from the trees. If it did it would overwhelm the sky. I would like to edit the stills of the lamppost to look more surreal, maybe find some kind of nighttime effect that would make the sun look like the moon.

Homeless Man Pan

I love when the bird flies by in the refelction of the last window. I would like to edit that to look more prominent. That is something that would make me want to see more of the sky.

Cell Block

This whole clip makes me feel trapped. I would like to edit in some image at the end that looks freeing or open. I'm also thinking of editing the color of the lighting since most of these stills were taken at night and have the same tint.

Brick House

This is a very eerie video. This shadow starts to look like a three-dimensional tree towards the end of the shot. I would like to edit something else into this video, maybe quick cuts to something with more contrast or something brighter but I still haven't figured out what.

My second light capturing stragedy for Trek 02 is #23 on the list: images of only shadows
My first light capturing stragedy for Trek 02 is #3 on the list: an image that makes you want to see the rest of the sky.
